Where to Begin?
Pool and Clubhouse
Jojoba Hills has an abundance of recreational amenities. The most acclaimed is the huge pool and two spas. The founders chose the southern view of the Palomar Mountains as the setting for the pool and clubhouse, then designed the resort around them. The Mediterranean climate enables members to enjoy the pool and hot spas year-round. The resort maintains a constant water temperature in the pool and spas throughout the winter.
Friendship Hall
Surrounding the pool is a beautiful and functional clubhouse, proudly proclaiming “Built and Maintained by Volunteers”. Friendship Hall, which is the community gathering place, is large enough to accommodate the members of Jojoba Hills. The hall is used for meetings and special events, and group exercises such as yoga, hand weights, and aerobics. In addition, there are classes in ballroom and line dancing. Games such as Bingo, mahjong, cards, jigsaw puzzles, ping pong, and dominos are only a few of the ongoing activities in Friendship Hall.
Adjoining Friendship Hall is a large commercial kitchen frequently used by volunteers for preparation and serving of meals. Happy hour socials are held weekly to catch up with friends and meet visitors to the resort. Members take every opportunity to gather and socialize in Friendship Hall with dinner and music.
Library
The clubhouse houses our large library that contains thousands of books and videos. The library provides a quiet and relaxing place to sit and read.
Exercise Room
You can exercise on our state-of-the-art equipment. The room contains a weight machine, hand weights, treadmills and many other exercise machines.
Pool and Card Rooms
There are areas set aside for cards and games of all kinds. The pool room has three newly covered pool tables where friends gather to play.
Sewing Room and Longarm Quilting Machine
If you enjoy sewing, there is a large area dedicated to sewing and quilting. A longarm quilting machine is used for finishing touches. The quilters of the resort enjoy donating many of their quilts to local charities.
Craft Room
The resort has a large and well-stocked craft room. Woodcarving, cardmaking, decorative gourds, polyclay, beading and stitching are just a few of the ongoing classes.
Tennis and Pickleball Court
The resort has a tennis court that converts into four pickleball courts. Mornings are reserved by the pickleball players and it is not unusual to find all four courts full of players with other players waiting to take on the winners. Cooperative Workshops
Jojoba Hills maintains a Wood and Metal shop full of hand and power tools for the convenience of the members. The woodshop includes a commercial quality table saw, radial arm saw, drill press, wood lathe, band and radial sanders and more. Connected to each of these power machines is a vacuum system to control sawdust. There is also a complete inventory of landscaping tools that can be used by the members.
The Ranch house
The original Ranch House has been converted into the resort office. It also houses an intimate socializing area for small gatherings along with a full kitchen. Committees and clubs, like the Photobugs, meet in this area. Members may also reserve the area for private parties. Members enjoy watching games on the extra large flat screen television.
Art Center
Jojoba Hills has an Art Center with two studios. One Studio where drawing, watercolor and painting classes are held. There’s also a new Pottery Studio where hand-building, wheel and glazing instruction is provided. Both studios are available any time for individual work.
Soon to come is an Outdoor Studio area with work tables for art projects that can be done outdoors, such as mosaics, stained glass, etc.

Laundry and Showers
The resort has four modern laundries with attached shower facilities. The washers and dryers are all top notch heavy duty machines. For those out there who love the smell of air dried clothes, several of the laundries have areas for line drying.
Dog Walks
The resort is pet friendly and provides two large fenced areas where dogs can run and play.
Air Gun Range
A fun pastime of members is heading out to the resort’s air gun range to test their marksmanship on targets at varying distances. Competitions are often held to see just who has the best eye and steadiest hand on the range.
RV Storage
The resort maintains a parking area where members can store travel RVs, boats and trailers.
Greenhouse
Members can pick up a large variety of plants from the resort nursery.
